I love sugar cookies! I found this recipe at Christmas time and I think I will never make another sugar cookie again. Enjoy.
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream
3 tsp vanilla
2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
5 ½ cups flour
5 ½ cups flour
Cream butter and sugar.
Beat eggs one at a time. Add sour cream and vanilla. Combine dry ingredients separately then combine with wet ingredients. Chill for 1 hour.
Roll out on floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick. Bake on greased and parchment lined cookie sheet at 375 for 7-8 minutes. They should not be browned at all. Overcooking will cause them to turn crispy. Cool five minutes then transfer to a cooling rack until completely cool. Frost with your favorite buttercream!
